Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform field diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on various types of construction and support equipment such as: Excavators, Loaders, Backhoes, Water trucks and other vehicles.
  • Perform duties in an expedient and professional manner and maintain open communication with the shop and field.
  • Work both in a field (outdoor) and a shop environment.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and instructions from management.
  • Maintain well documented records of work performed, equipment conditions and future needs.
  • Perform other equipment and vehicle related duties as needed.
  • Ability to weld, cut, and fabricate as required.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Ability to read and understand service manuals.
  • Proficient with programs such as Cat E.T. and J-pro

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Studies project specifications with project superintendent and management to plan procedures for pipe installation sequencing.
  • Directs, coordinates and supervises daily activities of staff and sub-contractors.
  • Operates assigned heavy equipment to excavate, install and backfill large pipe and culvert.
  • Uses instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation.
  • Inspects work to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in heavy civil construction projects, or combination of education and experience necessary to meet the job requirements.
  • OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid certified. Confined Space Certified, Maricopa County Rule 310 Basic Certification
  • Must have current driver’s license and insurable motor vehicle record. CDL preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in safe operation of heavy equipment (i.e. tractors, scrapers, bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, excavators of any size, compactors).
  • Knowledge of street and highway traffic rules and regulations, and safety precautions to be observed in working on or near highways.

  • Operates a variety of heavy equipment used in the construction and repair of underground utilities to include front-end loaders, trucks, bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, skid steers.
  • Operates equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, ensuring proper machine start-up, operation and shut down
  • Performs daily cleaning, inspection, maintenance and safety checks of equipment to include inspection of tires, lights, brakes, fuses and fluid levels, and general operating condition
  • Completes and maintains daily equipment inspection forms

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Minimum 1-3 year’s prior experience operating heavy equipment, or similar, in a heavy civil construction environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience required to meet the job requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with operating 18,000lb equipment and above, required.
  • Knowledge of street and highway traffic rules and regulations, and safety precautions to be observed in working on or near highways and in busy urban areas.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety standards and Underground Facilities Law (Blue Stake, Arizona 811)

  • Use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, eye levels and transit levels to set appropriate grade for pipe installation.
  • Identify & comply with Blue Stake policy colors for safe operation of equipment around utilities
  • Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
  • Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
  • Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools.

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Minimum 1 year experience in underground utility construction projects, or combination of education and experience necessary to meet the job requirements
  • Demonstrated skills in safe operation of lasers, tamping machines, saws, and other hand or power tools necessary to meet job requirements
  • Ability to read, understand and work in conformity with work orders, blueprints, construction plans and grade stakes.

KCC is a growing civil construction company that functions as both General Contractor (GC) and Subcontractor. KCC specializes in and self-performs site utility installation, earthwork and concrete. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Heavy Civil program management and critical thinking
  • Plan, organize and direct all project activities from initial budget to project closeout
  • Manage project level financial aspects of projects and WIP processes for cost to complete projections and cost to date reports
  • Plan and organize schedules/resources/procurement of materials for various projects
  • Ensure assigned projects/tasks are completed timely and with high level of accuracy and quality
  • Negotiate and resolve all customer/client concerns
  • Monitor fieldwork execution and progress and report on productivity against budget.
  • Estimate and negotiate project change orders
  • Project document control, Request for Information (RFI’s), Supplemental Information (SI’s), Submittals, Drawing and Spec review, etc.

  • Proficiency with MS Office and experience with HCSS Heavy Job is preferred.

Our Project Engineers are a liaison between the estimators, project managers and field teams, who are responsible for assisting the project team with the planning, management, and administration of the project(s) to which they are assigned. The variety of duties requires that the Project Engineer be organized, detail-oriented, a quick learner and an effective communicator.
