This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities and/or qualifications,
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates a variety of heavy equipment used in the construction and repair of underground utilities to include front-end loaders, trucks, bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, skid steers.
- Operates equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, ensuring proper machine start-up, operation and shut down
- Performs daily cleaning, inspection, maintenance and safety checks of equipment to include inspection of tires, lights, brakes, fuses and fluid levels, and general operating condition
- Completes and maintains daily equipment inspection forms
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Minimum 1-3 year’s prior experience operating heavy equipment, or similar, in a heavy civil construction environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience required to meet the job requirements
- Demonstrated experience with operating 18,000lb equipment and above, required.
- Knowledge of street and highway traffic rules and regulations, and safety precautions to be observed in working on or near highways and in busy urban areas.
- Thorough knowledge of safety standards and Underground Facilities Law (Blue Stake, Arizona 811)
